Dripless support

Ask a question below and you will get the answer we have written for it. Nothing here is generated: every answer is one a person wrote. If none of them fit, email support@dripless.app and a person replies, usually within two business days.

Getting started

  1. Open Dripless in your Shopify admin. It reads your shipping rates and shows them in plain English.
  2. Check them and click “These rates are correct”.
  3. Use the links on the Dripless home page to add the delivery text to your product page, product cards and cart. On the product page, drag the Dripless block to sit just under the price. Click Save in the theme editor.
  4. Run the setup check to confirm every price shows delivery information.

When do the new delivery price rules start?

1 July 2027. The Act received assent on 2 July 2026 and the whole of it commences on 1 July 2027, so there is no partial start and no transition period after that date. Until then nothing is required of you, which is the whole reason to sort it out early rather than in the last fortnight.

What exactly does the law require me to show?

Where a charge is unavoidable and paid at the same time as the goods, the amount has to be displayed if it can be calculated, or the method of calculating it if it cannot. It must be legible, prominent and unambiguous, and in close proximity to the base price. The requirement applies each time a price is displayed, so a line at checkout alone does not satisfy it: product pages and product lists show prices too.

What is drip pricing?

Showing a low price first and adding unavoidable charges later, usually at checkout. Delivery is the common one: a product shows as $40 and becomes $49.95 at the final step. The new rules target that gap between the first price a shopper sees and the amount they actually pay.

What are the penalties?

For companies, the maximum is the greater of A$100 million, three times the benefit obtained, or 30 per cent of adjusted turnover during the breach period. Infringement notices also apply. Note that summaries written before 28 March 2026 say A$50 million; that first limb was doubled on that date.

What if the delivery charge depends on the postcode or the weight?

The law allows for this. Where the amount cannot be calculated at the time the price is shown, what has to be displayed is the method of calculating it. In practice that is a line saying the charge starts from a figure and varies by state, or that it is worked out by weight. Dripless writes that line from your own rates rather than leaving a shopper with "calculated at checkout".

Does this apply to my store?

It applies to goods or services of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, and there is no exemption for small suppliers. If you sell everyday consumer goods to Australian shoppers, assume you are covered. Whether a particular range falls inside that description is a question for you and, if it matters, your own adviser.

How do I set Dripless up?

Three steps, about two minutes. Dripless reads your shipping settings and explains them in plain English; you check them and click "These rates are correct". Then two links open your theme editor with the Dripless blocks ready to place, one for product pages and one for product cards and the cart. Click Save in the editor and you are done. No code is edited, and nothing is left behind in your theme if you uninstall.

The delivery text is not showing on my store

Run "Run setup check" on the Dripless home page: it loads your store the way a shopper does and tells you which pages are missing the text. The three usual causes are that the theme block was never placed or saved in the theme editor, that the app embed for product cards and the cart is switched off, or that your store is over the Free plan's limit of 10 products, which switches the display off entirely until you upgrade.

Where does the delivery charge come from?

From your own Shopify shipping settings: flat rates, free-delivery thresholds, order value and weight tiers, carrier-calculated rates and state-based rates. Nothing is typed in by hand. When you change a rate, Shopify tells Dripless and the text updates within about a minute; there is also a daily re-check. If a figure looks wrong, it almost always means the underlying rate says something different from what you expected, which the "rates in plain English" screen is there to surface.

Can I change the wording or how it looks?

Yes, on the Complete plan. You can pick an explicit or a compact wording style, set the text size and colour, and write your own wording for each kind of rate. On the Free plan the wording is fixed, which keeps it accurate without supervision.

What do the plans cost, and what is the difference?

Free covers the delivery display everywhere, on product pages, product lists and the cart, for stores with up to 10 products. Complete is US$4.99 a month or US$49 a year with a 14-day free trial, and adds any catalogue size, the pressure-tactic scan, the subscription-terms block, the dated compliance record with CSV download, and custom wording and styling.

Why has the delivery text switched off on my store?

The Free plan covers stores with up to 10 products. Above that the display switches off completely rather than covering only some pages, because partial coverage could leave you believing your store meets the rules when it does not. Upgrading to Complete switches it straight back on; nothing is lost in the meantime, and your compliance record keeps recording throughout.

What is the compliance record?

A dated log of what your store displayed and when: the wording in use, every change to it, each time you confirmed your rates, and the results of any scans. It is downloadable as a CSV. It exists because "we showed the right thing from July" is a much easier position to hold with dates attached. It is a record of what your store showed; it is not a certificate, and it is not legal advice.

What is the pressure-tactic scan?

A Complete-plan check that loads your home page, a product page and your cart looking for countdown timers, low-stock notices, activity pressure messages and pre-ticked add-ons, and explains what it finds. These sit alongside drip pricing in the same unfair trading reforms, so it is worth knowing what your theme and other apps are doing before somebody else points it out.

Does Dripless work with market-driven shipping?

Yes. Dripless reads both the Markets-based setup and the older delivery profiles, and chooses automatically per store, so it keeps working whichever model your store is on. If Shopify is showing you a compatibility warning about Dripless, that flag is out of date; tell us and we will get it cleared.

What can Dripless see in my store?

Read-only access to your shipping settings, markets, store locations and products, and nothing else. Dripless cannot change your products, prices, orders or shipping, and it does not read customer or order data. Nothing about your store is used to train AI. When you uninstall, the access key is deleted at once and the rest is deleted after Shopify's 48-hour window.

Does Dripless work with my theme?

It works with any theme that supports app blocks, which covers every free Shopify theme and nearly all paid ones. The product-page line is a block you drag where you want it, so it sits under the price in whatever layout your theme uses. Product cards and the cart are handled by an app embed, which needs no placement at all. If your theme is an older vintage one without app block support, the setup check will tell you rather than leaving you guessing.

Will this slow my store down?

It is built to avoid that. The delivery text is worked out on our side and published to your store as plain text that your theme renders, rather than being fetched by JavaScript after the page loads. That means no layout shift and no waiting on a third party for the line to appear.

How do I cancel or uninstall?

Uninstall from Settings then Apps in your Shopify admin, which also ends any billing through Shopify. Because the storefront text is added with theme blocks rather than theme code, nothing of ours is left behind in your theme. To stay on but stop paying, switch to Free on the Plans page instead. For anything about a specific charge, write to support@dripless.app.

I still need help

Write to support@dripless.app and a person answers. Include your store address and, if something looks wrong on your storefront, the link to a product page where you can see it; that is usually enough to find the cause without any back and forth.
